Deploy the image via the Marketplace<\/h2>\n<p>The VM image for <em>KUSANAGI for Microsoft Azure<\/em> is available in the Marketplace. First select the image and follow the instructions to deploy the virtual machine.<\/p>\n<h3>a. Select a VM image from the Marketplace<\/h3>\n<p>From the Azure Portal screen, you can browse virtual machines in the Marketplace.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Click &#8220;Virtual machines&#8221; on the left menu.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/kusanagi.tokyo\/en-kusanagi8\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/azure02.png\" alt=\"azure02\" width=\"474\" height=\"270\" \/><\/li>\n<li>The &#8220;Virtual machines&#8221; screen will display, so click &#8220;Add&#8221;.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/kusanagi.tokyo\/en-kusanagi8\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/azure03.png\" alt=\"azure03\" width=\"471\" height=\"268\" \/><\/li>\n<li>You will now be looking at the &#8220;Virtual Machines&#8221; search screen.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/kusanagi.tokyo\/en-kusanagi8\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/azure04.png\" alt=\"azure04\" width=\"474\" height=\"270\" \/><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>b. Select an image<\/h3>\n<p>You can search for the term &#8220;kusanagi&#8221; on the &#8220;Virtual Machines&#8221; search screen.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>In the search field, type &#8220;kusanagi&#8221; and hit Enter.<br \/>\n* While entering your search term, &#8220;KUSANAGI for Microsoft Azure&#8221; will be suggested but please ignore this.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/kusanagi.tokyo\/en-kusanagi8\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/azure05.png\" alt=\"azure05\" width=\"474\" height=\"270\" \/><\/li>\n<li>After searching, select the VM image <em>KUSANAGI for Microsoft Azure<\/em>.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/kusanagi.tokyo\/en-kusanagi8\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/azure06.png\" alt=\"azure06\" width=\"474\" height=\"270\" \/><\/li>\n<li>On the right side of the screen, click &#8220;Create&#8221;.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/kusanagi.tokyo\/en-kusanagi8\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/azure07.png\" alt=\"azure07\" width=\"474\" height=\"270\" \/><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>2. Create the virtual machine<\/h2>\n<p>Create and launch a virtual machine from the selected VM image and log in.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"basics\">a. Basics<\/h3>\n<p>The &#8220;Basics&#8221; screen will display.<\/p>\n<p>Fill out the form and click &#8220;OK&#8221;.<br \/>\n* Please make a note of the user name and password you choose since these will be used to log in.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/kusanagi.tokyo\/en-kusanagi8\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/azure08.png\" alt=\"azure08\" width=\"474\" height=\"270\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Choose the instance size<\/h3>\n<p>The &#8220;Size&#8221; screen will display.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Choose the instance for your virtual machine.<br \/>\nThe requirements for <em>KUSANAGI for Microsoft Azure<\/em> are an A2 Basic instance or above and a minimum of 3.5GB of memory.<\/li>\n<li>Click the &#8220;Select&#8221; button.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/kusanagi.tokyo\/en-kusanagi8\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/azure09.png\" alt=\"azure09\" width=\"474\" height=\"270\" \/><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>c. Settings<\/h3>\n<p>The &#8220;Settings&#8221; screen will display.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>You can select the settings for Storage, Network, Monitoring, and Availability. If you are unsure, leave the defaults. You may make changes at a later time. You may also configure the ingoing\/outgoing protocols and ports (or firewall) in Network Security Group. The default ports are 80 for HTTP, 22 for SSH, and 443 for HTTPS. We recommend that you make suitable changes for a more secure configuration, such as IP restrictions, depending on your circumstances.<\/li>\n<li>Click &#8220;OK&#8221;.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/kusanagi.tokyo\/en-kusanagi8\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/azure10.png\" alt=\"azure10\" width=\"474\" height=\"270\" \/><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>d. Summary<\/h3>\n<p>The &#8220;Summary&#8221; screen will display.<\/p>\n<p>After reviewing the configuration settings for your virtual machine, click &#8220;OK&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/kusanagi.tokyo\/en-kusanagi8\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/azure11.png\" alt=\"azure11\" width=\"474\" height=\"270\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>e. Buy<\/h3>\n<p>The &#8220;Buy&#8221; screen will display.<\/p>\n<p>The fee for the selected images and instances will be shown along with the terms of use.<br \/>\nSince <em>KUSANAGI for Microsoft Azure<\/em> is free, it will show as 0.0000 JPY\/hr.<\/p>\n<p>Click &#8220;Purchase&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/kusanagi.tokyo\/en-kusanagi8\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/azure12.png\" alt=\"azure12\" width=\"474\" height=\"270\" \/><\/p>\n<p>According to the terms of your Azure account, the &#8220;Buy&#8221; screen may look different. Even in this case, KUSANAGI is free. If this alternate screen appears, please click &#8220;Create&#8221;.<\/p>\n<h2>3. Deploy the virtual machine<\/h2>\n<h3>a. Starting deployment<\/h3>\n<p>You will get a notification that the virtual machine is being deployed. Please wait.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/kusanagi.tokyo\/en-kusanagi8\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/azure13.png\" alt=\"azure13\" width=\"474\" height=\"270\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>b. After deployment<\/h3>\n<p>You will get a notification that the deployment succeeded. Click on this notification.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/kusanagi.tokyo\/en-kusanagi8\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/azure14.png\" alt=\"azure14\" width=\"474\" height=\"270\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Click on your virtual machine.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/kusanagi.tokyo\/en-kusanagi8\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/azure15.png\" alt=\"azure15\" width=\"474\" height=\"270\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Check that the status says &#8220;Running&#8221; and make note of the public IP address.<br \/>\nAlong with your username and password, this IP address is needed to log in.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/kusanagi.tokyo\/en-kusanagi8\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/azure16.png\" alt=\"azure16\" width=\"474\" height=\"270\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>4. Log in to the virtual machine and prepare for initialization<\/h3>\n<p>Below we will explain how to log in to your virtual machine in preparation for initialization.<\/p>\n<h4>a. Log in to the virtual machine<\/h4>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/kusanagi.tokyo\/en-kusanagi8\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/azure17.png\" alt=\"azure17\" width=\"474\" height=\"284\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Using an SSH client such as Poderosa or other terminal software, log in to your virtual machine.<br \/>\nThe host name is your public IP address, and you will also need your username and password.<\/p>\n<p>Once you are logged in, you will see this screen.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/kusanagi.tokyo\/kusanagi8\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/018.png\" alt=\"018\" width=\"441\" height=\"156\" \/><\/p>\n<h4>b. Switch to the root user<\/h4>\n<p>Enter the following to switch to the root user.<\/p>\n<pre>$ sudo su -<\/pre>\n<p>You will be asked for a password. Please enter the same password you used to log in.<\/p>\n<pre>We trust you have received the usual lecture from the local System\r\nAdministrator.
